Below is a letter that was emailed to the management/ owners, i was telephoned the next day, asking again what had happened, the person i had spoken to had told me that there had been problems and that they would get back to me. It is now May the 16th 2011 and they have not got back to me, and as far as i know this person is still there!!! There was no apology, nothing.
Be aware if you go on this Boat you cannot just get off.

To The Management / Owners of the Waipa Delta
I feel that I should make you aware of the evening cruise that myself and my guests attended for my husband’s 50th Birthday. I have been on this boat many times over the years and have had an enjoyable time.
Unfortunately this last time was over shadowed by your hostess / waitress rudeness to my guests.
On boarding the boat we were not greeted or welcomed as one would expect. Within 15 minutes of being seated my 12 year old daughter ( who is a mature young girl for her age and was not being silly) ,was told to get her elbows off the table( which yes she should not of had them on the table, and does know better) but I do not expect a service member of your staff to inform guests of the correct etiquette that they should be using.
Further throughout the evening meal, my daughter was ordering herself another drink and then asked if anyone else next to her would like one, when the waitress rudely said to her, “was she paying for it” and then said, that she did not have a right to be asking!!! She was clearly trying to belittle her and yes she did have the right to be ordering herself a drink. I had not heard this and was told by another guest later the next day, who was shocked at her rudeness to my daughter.
At the other end of the table, another guest was asking a question regarding the menu when she was told abruptly “TO BE QUIET AND TO LISTEN TO THE SPECIAL” in such a rude tone that it had the attention of all the guMoreests at the table (who were shocked) this was unacceptable.
If we had not been on a boat and this had not been a special occasion, we would have all got up and left. For some of the other guests, the rest of the night they felt that we were walking on egg shells, and did not want to upset the waitress. She was very unprofessional throwing (I do mean throwing them down on the table) the cutlery that had been used for the entrees back on to the table to be used again!!!
I know this woman has been working on the boat for some time, as she has served me before on the lunch cruises that you have. She was the topic of conversation on the outside of the boat with other guests that were not even dining with us who were sharing the same observations as the rest of us.
I spent well over a thousand dollars plus for the evening and to say the least I am not happy. I have had better service at chipmunks for a child’s party.
I don’t know if she was having a bad day or what, but she is not doing this business any favours and I would definitely think twice about returning which is a shame.

One star, which was more than generous, we booked for an afternoon cruise 2 adults departing 3pm and serving scones and a hot beverage.

Our first time ever (most def the last) as we waited in line the solid female attendant ‘yelled’ at us from the boarding ramp to start boarding. She was very grumpy, no smile, something akin to a prison guard! We were asked very

rudely ‘ I just want your passes’ and then we were told to
‘go on’
Upon entering the vessel, the mismatched wooden furniture, wobbly plastic/faded chairs and wonky table cloths (with none of the furnishings permanently fixed) it was a def shambles. With hardly enough room to move about.We seated our selves in the very crowded upstairs area. A distorted crackling over head speaker blurted out various historical facts and kept up a crackling noise even when not in use. Scones were placed on the bar, no service. It was literally like a cattle call! For people to collect there scone and make there way perilously back to there seats while the deck was rolling.
We never received our scone or beverage due to the fact that we couldn’t get to the bar area and back to our seats for the crowded aisle.
The vessel showed so many signs of wear and a general lack of up keep. We eventually made our way below, again Wonky tables and table clothes and spilt pepper all over the floor. The toilets were dirty with toilet paper on the floors with very bad smell.
The view of the harbor bridge was the best part of the journey. I would NOT recommend anyone waste money on this trip. Certainly not value for money and the vessel it’s self is in desperate need of some TLC and staff with better customer service skills!
We took the devonport ferry home and for $11and public transport it was much smoother, cleaner and nicer then the waipa delta cruise. Very disappointing!
