Service was revolting. Waitress came after half an hour and took our order, didn’t not offer any drinks, we had to ask her for the drinks, for the food menu three times then she forgot so we waited another half hour. In the intrim a group of people came and got drinks within 15 mins. I then had to ask the another waiter who kindly asked if we were ok. He got us the menu after asking four times. The drinks came and the order was all wrong. Waited another 1 hour till main was served. No one asked if we wanted anything or if we ok, after we had dinner I told the manager that the service was not very good tonight and completely ignored me, no acknowledgement or apologies. Bad service = loss of business. I will not be returning to Ravis Botany ever again.

Awesome food. Great service and good atmosphere & price. We are regulars there and took visitors there on many occasions. Everyone complimented on the great tasting food. Highly recommended to all. We’ve been there on busy nights a couple of times without booking :( and the manager found us a table anyway. He’s great and always checks on patrons. Try the Sizzling entree it’s delicious. Enjoy :).

I am a regular customer of Raviz and used to visit almost twice a week. What I did love about it was the ease of parking and calm ambience and of course the awesome yet affordable food! However, I was shocked with the quality of food I got a week back.we ordered handi chicken and malai kofta- which was horrible!! The chicken was old, stinking as if it was lying out of the freezer for days and uncooked! To my horror, the malai kofta was as hard as a rock !! I was so pissed as that’s the last thing you want when you finish work and just want to have a good dinner!!! I called over the lady who was indifferent and not bothered to hear anything I said! I asked her to change my chicken which she did ( as I hadn’t tried my malai kofta by then) anyways the replacement lamb dish was edible. I called her again to show her the quality of the malai kofta to which she didn’t bat an eyelid and said that the manager is on leave, the cooks are like this only and she is only working there as the manager in charge today.

Such a bad experience. The restaurant needs new management, discipline and staff need to be engaged and interested in their clients. I am definitely never going there again.. Ever!! Worst thing- when I went to the counter to pay, the staff doesn’t bother to even apologise once for the uncooked disgusting food and I paid for it! Horrible customer service and even worse food! They have lost a loyal customer!

This is probably my favourite Indian restaurant. Consistently high quality and able to hit the right spice level , not too scared to really make it Indian hot! I have never found anywhere that does such good starters or nan breads. Staff are very good and family friendly. I have worked my way through almost the whole menu and not had a bad curry yet! ( the Handi chicken which is a house special is one of my faves)

We have been here 3 or 4 times over the past 12 months and the food has been excellent on all occasions. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and very helpful when advising on the extensive menu dishes. Plenty of free parking is a bonus too. I travel from Onehunga to be here – it’s worth the drive !

Went Saturday night with a voucher wondering if we would be treated as second class after reading the reviews here. But no-the staff were polite and caring and the food arrived just when we wanted it. No problem with the included beer being a Kingfisher and Settler’s Hill wine. No problem either taking away what we didn’t eat. All the food was delicious and the choice of curry was a little different from the usual Indian and there was plenty of meat & prawns in the curry. One friend wanted medium to hot and it was delivered as they liked it- my husband likes mild and he got that too. We will be going back with other friends. Only a small charge for corkage on top of that. A really nice atmosphere with helpful staff who served good food in a timely fashion.

The curry’s good though the platter was a little messy. The staffs were fine and nice but the man in charge was rude. We had a big group and called in to make reservation, the resturant was still empty because it has just open for the dinner hour. Imagine my surprise when we were made to sit in the table next to the main door and being odd numbered, they’ve arranged the extra chair at the end of the long table right in the door opening. Customers will have to walk past us to get through into the resturant. I asked the person in charge to change our table and he asked me what is wrong with that seat?! After we were given another table, an elderly couple came in with their grandchild. They made to sit in a tight corner against the drink fridge in a table for 2 with the extra chair along the bar counter entrance! After noticing that we were the only 2 groups in the resturant, the elderly couple asked to change their table too. I prefer the Raviz in Ellerslie, smaller but so much friendlier.

A hard review to write. We have been regulars here since it first opened and have always recommended to our friends and family, many of whom have also become regulars.
The food has always been outstanding, by far the best Indian food we have ever had, and we’ve had a lot!
Up until recently the service has always been wonderful, friendly and warm. Now the original woman and man are no longer there (evidently they oversee all the branches ). The man who is now the maitre de is rude and very arrogant. Such a shame! Our extended family have found the same over the past few months.
We will remain loyal because the food is so good, but we strongly suggest the owners look into this as the reputation of Ravis seems to be going downhill due to one man who could do with some lessons in hospitality.

When we were new to the area we tried all the Indian restaurants and after our first experience at Raviz’s we have never tried another local one. We have never had a bad meal in the 20+ times we have visited. The Beef Madras, Chicken Tikka and Garlic Naan’s are simply outstanding.

I will be the first to admit that almost all indian restaurants in NZ have a very common undertone in the taste of the dishes. However this one has always given me fond memories for the very good service on every single occassion.

They have willingly accommodated us in comfortable settings even if the restaurant is packed. The food is well prepared and has a huge variety on the menu.

The management has changed recently and the quality is not as high as it used to be but still a good restaurant. I agree with another review that the Malai Kofta was pretty hard – but the other dishes were good and made up.

THis is the best Indian Restaurant in our area. We love Raviz so much. The food is brilliant and very reasonably priced. Takeaways are great too. Their naan bread is the best ever. Very family friendly, we often take our young children here and they love it as much as we do.

I have eaten at other Raviz branches before, and found that this one wasn’t as good as the others. The place is nice, but the butter chicken was quite bland – even though we asked for mild, but it just didn’t have much taste, it wasn’t very sweet at all. And the naans were ok, but I’ve had much better naans at other Indian restaurants. Overall an ok experience.
