The food was ok, the staff pretty inconsiderate and rude for a restaurant. The place was filthy, feet sticking to the floor. dirty noren, I really should have looked for their hygiene certificate to see how bad the council rated them.

Very entertaining night with good food. We shared a $98 banquet which was just enough for two people – portions can be quite small. The place is small but cosy.

Oishii! Salty, but cooked to perfection.

We shared the $98 banquet between 3 people – my husband, myself, and our 2yo. Great value.

The chef was very friendly. The flames were fun. I’m thinking about when I can go back again. It’s some distance from our dinner stomping ground.

Thank you Karen A., following your review we decided to visit Fuji. First impression of the building was not what I expected, but you were absolutely right. (don’t judge a book by its cover)
Not only was the food deee lish YUM YUM!!- OISHII.., the service was prompt, the chef was entertaining, and the atmosphere was cosy. Will definitely be going back my daughter has requested to go back for her birthday.

Wot a fantastic find, we weren’t sure what to expect but this was a great night out. Very friendly staff, extremely accommodating with our 8 year old (allowing him to share our food), which he loved! Food was fantastic and plenty of it, cooked to perfection, chef cooking in front of us had us laughing many a time. BYO wine was a bonus, will be going back in a mouth and will probably be taking over the restaurant with our big group. Would recommend this restaurant for sure! 10/10. $98 menu for two rocks!

21 of us headed back to Fuji Teppanyaki on the 8th September for my 40th. Well I have to say this is just the best place on earth!! What a fantastic night, I just can’t say enough about this restaurant. Great food, great people, great entertainment, what more could you ask for. I would not hesitate in going back and recommending to others. Everyone in our group had a fantastic time and I had people ringing me the next day saying how great the night was. WOW, what a place. I have to say that the SAKI BOMBS are great too!!

One of My favourites, and it never disappoints.
My friend Nakamura and I discovered it on a Ponsonby rd Bar crawl one night 12 or so Years ago and I go back once or twice a Year. I was there Tuesday night, and its still Great.
David is a consummate show man with a incredible pedigree of Success, and very entertaining.
I recommend the 2 People for 96 $ set Menu,
Its very good, and one of the good points is that
You don’t go home hungry,
Its very good quality, but more so, very good Value for Japanese.
Check it out, I do enjoy Japanese, and I recommend Fuji.

Really cute little (tiny!) restaurant, authentic decor and friendly staff who make the whole thing lots of fun. Don’t bother with the appetisers – they are VERY overpriced ($18 for two prawns, two slices of kumara and two small surimi sticks)
